A lesson in rescuing heroes in nature
Partnering with David Glover, The Bartlett Bee Whisperer, allows our Bee Team to not only learn to keep bees, but rescue them too!
After we harvest the last of the year’s honey, it’s time to make sure the bees have enough honey stored as food for the winter. Kevin and the team check each frame and make sure each hive has enough food for all the bees inside. When needed, the team builds more hive parts and adds an inner lid that gets filled with sugar - this both helps to feed the bees when it’s too cold to go outside, and it helps absorb moisture in the hive so the bees to get wet from condensation. It takes a team to raise happy bees, but they rewards are delicious! Way to go team!!!
