Each Youth Recycles - EYR

Inspired by time working in beautiful spaces like farms and waterways, teens on the Eastern Shore of Maryland have become protective of their communities’ ecosystems. While touring a local park a group of teens counted 23 garbage bins and nowhere to place recyclable items. They decided that they have the power to do something about it, so they started EYR - Each Youth Recycles, because if each youth recycles, we can have a powerful impact on nature and our environment.

Starting with reclaimed and recycled materials the team gets to work making items useful for creating recycled bins from recycled materials!

This team works well together to incorporate one anothers’ ideas. Projects require hands on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math - and that’s just the construction part. Teens do everything from creative art and design for the recycling bins to writing up and presenting proposals to local businesses and agencies for their use. Even acquiring recycled materials is a collaborative effort. This project needs everybody for it to be successful. Find out how you can get involved HERE.
